How do I import SpritePilot exports into Unity?

For uniform grids: import the PNG as a Sprite texture, set Sprite Mode to Multiple, and slice with Grid By Cell Size in Unity's Sprite Editor — no plugins needed. For trimmed or mixed-size sprites: download them from SpritePilot as separate PNGs and import those. Unity doesn't read atlas JSON on its own, and the free TexturePacker Importer only reads TexturePacker's own .tpsheet files.

How do I import SpritePilot exports into Godot 4?

Yes. SpritePilot is specifically optimized for pixel art sprite sheets. The Sprite Sheet Player uses integer scaling so pixel art stays sharp at any preview size. The alpha detection correctly handles partially transparent edges common in pixel art, and all canvas operations use nearest-neighbor rendering to avoid blurry upscaling.

What is the difference between Alpha Detection and Grid Slice?

Alpha Detection uses OpenCV flood-fill on our detection server to automatically find sprites by their transparent boundaries — ideal for sheets where sprites are different sizes or irregularly placed. Grid Slice runs entirely in your browser and cuts the image into a uniform N-column by M-row grid — ideal for sprite sheets where every frame is exactly the same size, such as character walk cycles or tile sets.

Does SpritePilot upload my images to a server?

Only in one case. Sprite Detection's Alpha / Background mode uploads that image to our server for processing; it is used only to return your results and is deleted automatically within 24 hours. Every other tool — Grid Slice, the converters, players, editors, packing, and exports — processes images locally in your browser and your files never leave your device.
